We recently published an in-depth blog post covering the last six months at Dtravel, our challenges and learnings, and where the project is headed next. You can read the full post here: Hop over to Discord (https://discord.com/invite/dtravel) for the full TLDR; WHAT IS NEXT FOR DTRAVEL Over the next 6 months, our focus is on the following: * Build a metasearch engine to function as a guest discovery portal for listings * Increase the number of web2 and web3 signup options * Develop alternative ways to create a Dtravel listing * Expand PMS and channel manager integrations * Drive supply, demand, and growth with conferences, events, and advertising * Introduce a Dtravel Advocate Program * Implement host and guest rewards * Add TRVL to Dtravel as a payment option PROJECT SUMMARY * We believe the book direct model liberates hosts from strict policies of OTAs & 3rd-party rental platforms * Guests will receive better prices and have more meaningful interactions with hosts * Think of what we’re building as a decentralized Shopify (but for short-term rentals) * Hosts truly own their own direct booking business, set their own rules, terms, and policies * The overarching goal of Dtravel is to build a web3 travel ecosystem * A key component of this ecosystem is interconnected listings discoverable via a metasearch engine * For example, a web2 analogue would be an aggregate of all Shopify merchants discoverable via a directory * The Dtravel metasearch engine will differ from web2 OTA search engines since data is received from individually owned direct booking sites rather than originating from the Dtravel website itself * This prevents Dtravel from becoming an intermediary * The booking is still facilitated between the host and guest directly via smart contract * The metasearch engine will consolidate property listings and redirect travelers to each listing similar to Tripadvisor or Skyscanner
